Your Great Photos here! – by Members (that’s you!)

Checking the run off ....Wales 2&3 May 2010 271Here’s a place where we’d like to create a gallery of just great photos; of people, places, events, anything, as long as it’s a great photo and has a biking connection or theme.

It has to be good enough to get past the FullChatter panel, though, to be posted.

Email your photo to us now along with a few words of telling us about it …… go on, do it now!

* N.b. Click on a photo to bring it up in the lightbox, the thumbnails don’t do justice. A little patience may be required just to let them load, but it’s worth it.

NW200 Day3 14.5.10 (42)3. What about this one? Taken on the Northern Ireland Coast Road. These guys were from Forfar and Arbroath, and over for the NW200. The snap was taken over the shoulder as they came up behind us, I have to say at this point we’d just had a plug repair to our rear tyre 15 mins before …. otherwise!

It reminds us of four Spitfires just ready to peel off! (as we’ve said, thumbnail’s don’t do justice so just click on the photo ….)

GBP (24)GBP (23)GBP (2)4&5. What about these two from our recent FullChatter trip to Dumfries and Galloway?

6. And this one taken at the Hartside Cafe, Alston …..

In the absence of entries from members, yes that’s you!, we thought we’d indulge ourselves with a few more of our own.

That had us thinking, what makes a great bike photo? We are not talking professional, just point and shoot stuff. We decided …..

sometimes it’s simply the road; sometimes it’s what adventures, people and places lie just around the bend, or over the brow; sometimes it’s the sense of freedom, adventure and friendship; sometimes it’s the time and place; sometimes it’s all of these.

Whatever it is, they all evoke memories and a yearning to be off, on the bike again.

7&8. Biking is all about bends and these are on the road between Skipton and Devil’s Bridge. 9. On the road to Stranraer. 10. There’s something brilliant about being on the quayside waiting to board a ferry. 11. ‘The Fastest Doc’, here, fed up with the delays, at the start of the NW200.

Five more ….. 12. There’s something ethereal (look it up!) about the beauty and magic of the Glens of Antrim, particularly from the back of your bike. 13. Majestic, The Dolomites. 14. Does this need a comment! 15. Who doesn’t marvel at rock formations. 16. The Col du Lautaret.

GBP (16) GBP (15) GBP (14) GBP (13) GBP (12)

And five more ….. 17. We like the Col du Lautaret. 18. Millau Bridge, who says you can’t take a photo into the Sun. 19. The Col de la Bataille. 20. Switzerland, one of our favourite places. 21. Lunch time.

GBP (11) GBP (10) GBP (9) GBP (8) GBP (7)

And some more ….. 22. Fancy fly-fishing en Francais? 23. Stand off! 24. Entering the Goulets! 25. Switzerland again. 26. The Stelvio in late May.

GBP (6) GBP (5) GBP (4) GBP (3) GBP (1)

Finally, for now ….. 27. The Black Forest High Road, a must for anyone’s top ten. 28. Believe it or not, Snowdonia. 29. Pont Du Gard.

Nothing, repeat nothing, fills you with memories like a Roadtrip does. Each and every trip will be retained in the memory banks like a library of DVD’s, that you’ll re-run in your mind, over and over and over, well every winter ….. until the next one.

Send us your Great Photo(s) now!

Here’s three from the Ulster Road Race scene, contributed by RC 46 – 30. (That Doc again) Road Race’s fastest Doctor, John Hines, through the Quarry Bends at the UGP. 31. The late Martin Finegan spectacular, down through Gillies Leap at The Skerries. 32. Tight racin at the UGP.

Falls of Feugh Ride To The Wall (59)Suzuki Graham CrockardThis next one, 32. is taken at the Falls of Feugh, we just like it for having the lid in view.

And 33, is, unusually for us, a professional snap, from Suzuki press office, a photo of Graham Crockard in full flight!

34, was taken and sent to us by FullChatter member Ray Shepherd. He sent us a few more from his day at the Ride To The Wall ~ 1st October 2011. We particularly liked this one.
